On September 24 in St. Louis, the Church will honor one of the greatest evangelists in American history. Before the Mass begins, tens of thousands will gather to pray the World Mission Rosary.
The challenge is real. More than 70,000 rosaries are needed. There is no supply at that scale, and even limited inventory quickly becomes cost prohibitive.
We need your help.
Whether you make 100 or 1,000, every rosary becomes part of something larger. Each one will be blessed before the Beatification. Each one will continue to be prayed long after that day is over.
The World Mission Rosary was designed by Archbishop Sheen 75 years ago this year, in 1951, at the beginning of his tenure as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies. It was a concrete way to help everyone pray to Our Lady, Queen of Apostles, for the success of the Church’s missionary efforts across the world. Each decade of the World Mission Rosary represents a different area of the world where missionaries connue to share the Good News of Jesus.
GREEN symbolizes the forests and grasslands of AFRICA. BLUE is for the ocean surrounding the ISLANDS OF THE PACIFIC. WHITE symbolizes EUROPE , home of the Holy Father, shepherd of the world; RED shows the fire of faith that brought the first missionaries to the AMERICAS, and YELLOW, is for the morning light of the East, symbolizing ASIA. To pray the World Mission Rosary, reflect on each area of the world according to the particular color described above at the time you announce each Mystery.
